During Advent Göttingen’s romantic Christmas market in its historic old town revolves around the Gänseliesel statue. The Christmas market in Göttingen with over lovely decorated 80 stands will put you in the mood for the finest celebration of the year. Visitors can browse through Christmas articles, wooden toys, glove puppets and at whole lot more. They can sample mulled wine (Glühwein) and Christmas treat to get into a Christmassy mood. And there is also something for youngsters: activities to join in with, a children’s roundabout, the historic big wheel and an Advent calendar as tall as a house! Particularly popular among visitors are the many handicraft demonstrations. For tour groups there are many attractive offers as well as the opportunity of watching crafts such as glassblowing or candle making.

The Christmas Market is closed on 24th - 26th December.
